Prospective Undergraduate Research Assistants

Celebrating graduating senior research assistants.
The Latino Adolescents, Siblings, and Families (LASF) Lab provides undergraduate students with advanced research training and experience in psychology by working with faculty, postdoctoral scholars, project staff, graduate students, and other advanced undergraduate students. Currently, the lab is focused on three projects (see home page).
Our lab is currently at capacity for Spring 2026, but if you are interested in joining the lab Fall 2026 please contact Yadira Alvarez (yalvarez@nd.edu) to complete the application form.
The lab is currently working on several projects:
The SIBS Study: Sibling Influences, Bonds, and Support
This project examines how these sibling relationships, together with cultural values, influence motivation, school performance, mental health, and overall adjustment.
FAM-CARE: Family Contexts, Academic Resilience, and Emotional Well-Being
This project examines how ethnic-racial minority college students and their siblings navigate stress together, balancing family obligations with personal goals. By exploring siblings’ collaborative coping strategies, we aim to better understand how families can simultaneously support and challenge students during college stress. We hope to understand how families can both support and challenge students in college.
